Institut Paul Bocuse trains more than 1,200 students each year, representing 60 nationalities studying on 10 international campuses. From undergraduate through to doctoral level, our courses benefit from an innovative teaching approach recognised by the Worldwide Hospitality Awards.

Whether you are a French or an international student, our International Student Affairs team (ISA) is available to help you with administrative formalities upon your arrival. Our objective is to help you settle into your new environment as quickly as possible so that you can make the most of your experience at Institut Paul Bocuse in complete peace of mind.

WE HELP YOU WITH YOUR ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES

  • We help you get your visa or residency permit
    International students are required to obtain a residency permit to be able to study abroad. As soon as your place has been confirmed at Institut Paul Bocuse, we offer you a personalised service to organise your arrival in Lyon. We’ll help you with formalities at the French Immigration Office (OFII) and the Rhône region prefecture.
  • French Social Security Office formalities
    Our campus team will help you obtain appropriate health cover as soon as you arrive. If you also require complementary student health insurance cover, we can advise you on the best contract to take out.
  • Setting up a bank account
    Our bank partners will be happy to advise you on opening a bank account in France. And since we strongly believe that your project should not be held back for financial reasons, we have an agreement with our partner bank to fund your studies at preferential rates. Under certain conditions you may also be eligible for a bursary or scholarship.
  • French CoursesAlliance Française Lyon
    If you need to improve your French level, you can sign up for one of the many General French Course run by our partner The Alliance Française de Lyon.

International students and 1st year students are given priority for campus accommodation, subject to availability.

Benoit Marson - Master's degree in Culinary Leadership & Innovation

I am currently doing my internship at “Le Royal” in Luxembourg City as a pastry chef de partie for both their restaurants “Pomme Cannelle” and “Amelys” as well as the Piano Bar and for banquets. It is a pleasure to work alongside the best Pastry Chef in Luxembourg, Lionel Marchand, where I can perfect my skills and expand my knowledge in pastry.
After Institut Paul Bocuse, I see myself as a pastry chef in my own restaurant in Luxembourg, a project I have been working on for several years now.

MSc. INTERNATIONAL HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

Our International Hospitality Management course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to become a leading manager on the world hospitality scene. The final MSc qualification is awarded by our partner institution, emlyon business school.

Qualification: State Certified Level 7 Qualification, registered with the National Repertoire of Professional Certifications (RNCP) & MSc.
Length: 16 months full-time 
Language of instruction: English 
Entry requirements: we welcome applications from candidates who have completed a recognised 1-year Master’s degree (BAC+4) or equivalent*

You’ll spend each semester in a different city. Moving from Lyon to Paris and then Shanghai in China, we’ll challenge you to understand the multicultural dimension of management. We’ll also give you opportunities to put into practice the theory you learn in the classroom during 3 real-life practical projects, including the creation of a pop-up restaurant, the development of a hotel project and a consulting mission.

You’ll also get to make some inspiring encounters with internationally-renowned designers and industry leaders during conferences, international seminars and  trend tours.

For students without any significant experience of working in the hospitality sector, we offer you the possibility of taking a 4-week immersion programme prior to the start of the course, allowing you to engage directly with the culture of our industry.  In addition to this module, we can also offer you an online management course if necessary.
