Future Unlocked: Explore New Programmes at EHEF 2025 with Copernicus and EURAXESS

Discover the opportunities of Copernicus and EURAXESS this 21 and 22 November at the European Higher Education Fair 2025 in Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Manila with online sessions happening on 24 November via Zoom. This year’s fair highlights two powerful European Union initiatives: Copernicus and EURAXESS, introduces Copernicus and EURAXESS as new programme sessions, opening even more pathways for Filipino students to explore, learn, and grow globally.

Copernicus and EURAXESS deepen European Union-Philippines cooperation supporting researchers, strengthening universities and ensuring Filipino students and academicians gain access to world-class science. They fuel innovation and empower Filipinos to contribute to solutions to global challenges. said H.E. Massimo Santoro, European Union Ambassador to the Philippines.

COPERNICUS
The Copernicus programme is the Earth-observation component of the European Union’s space programme, tracking our planet’s land, oceans, atmosphere, and more to benefit EU citizens everywhere.

Named after the great European scientist and astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the Copernicus programme was created to meet the needs of its users. Using data from satellites and on-the-ground observations, Copernicus provides near real-time information about our planet.

This information can be used globally, regionally, or locally to help us better understand the Earth and manage our environment in a sustainable way, noticed Ambassador Santoro.

“Copernicus: Europe’s Eye on Earth” will be presented at EHEF 2025 on 22 November at the Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Manila, by Key Expert for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction Mr Olaf Neussner on behalf of Mr. Luc Verelst, Team Leader of CopPhil TA at PhilSA, and Ms. Ericka Picar from the University of the Philippines. As part of the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, it supports research, innovation, climate resilience, biodiversity protection, and better hazard and disaster management in partnership with the Philippine government.

EURAXESS: Researchers in motion
The EURAXESS platform serves as a bridge from your university classroom in the Philippines to the EU's research laboratories, universities, and innovation hubs. It provides comprehensive support for mobility, career growth, job-matching, and international networking for researchers – making it a passport to global possibilities, added Ambassador Santoro.

Ms. Leonie Nagarajan and Dr Tatas Brotosudarmo, Regional Coordinators for ASEAN of EURAXESS Worldwide, will present a session “How to Pursue a PhD in Europe – Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions,” on 22 November at the Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Manila. The session will introduce the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and discuss how MSCA Doctoral Networks operate, their benefits, and strategies for applying to opportunities across the EU.
