Danes are known around the world for their concept of hygge, or maintaining a sense of coziness in one's life. As an Erasmus student in Aarhus University and the Danish School of Media and Journalism, I can say that you'll find hygge in the campus as well. Lectures are a relaxed and proactive affair, professors (who you call by first name, just like your friends) are helpful and accessible (no spoonfeeding here, though, just lots of encouragement), and the campus and its facilities (look out for the Studenterhus, or the student house, as they call it) make you really feel at home while studying. These make learning fun, less stressful, and, most importantly, worthwhile. There’s no escaping the dreaded exams, but at least you can cozy up in the library while finishing it!
